The Associated Students of University of California, Riverside (ASUCR) is the official undergraduate student government of UC Riverside.ASUCR acts as the liaison between students and administrators by providing an outlet for the student body to express concerns, questions, and suggestions about the university.
Similar to the U.S. government, ASUCR has three branches: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial.
• The Executive Branch is also known as the "Executive Cabinet." The Executive Cabinet is a representative body composed of five Executive Offices and six non-voting Directors. These officers and directors are elected by the student body At-Large.
• The Legislative Branch is also known as the "Senate." The Senate is a representative body composed of sixteen elected students with representation from each colleges. These student senators are elected by College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS), College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS), and Bourns College of Engineer (BCoE). Out of the sixteen senators, the Senate elects one senator as President Pro Tempore.
• The Judicial Branch is also known as the "Judicial Council." The Judicial Council is a non-partisan body composed of six appointed justices with three appointed each year that serves a two-year term. The justices are tasked with ensuring the efficient and ethical operations of ASUCR.
