The Indonesian Textile Association (API) was established in Jakarta by a number of textile entrepreneurs on June 17th 1974. API is a textile organization covering the whole textile industry sector ranging from mainstream to downstream industry (the making of fiber and filament, texturising, spinning, weaving, knitting/embroidery, dyeing/printing/finishing, batik, garment, and other textile articles as well as trade of national textile products).
API focuses on serving the needs and interests of members and other textile stakeholders. The activities cooperate with all stakeholders, including the government, textile employers, textile machinery, designers associations, universities and academia, press, experts on textiles, and others with a view to develop the textile industry and trade in Indonesia.
