Fine Dining meets Funky Street Food
With the take-away-only restaurant "Asia Street", the fine dining restaurant MUN (15 points Gault&Millau) brings a variety of East Asian street food to Munich's Werksviertel from May 2021. Quick dishes from Japan, China and Korea that can be enjoyed in classic snack style - during a break or lunch, before a concert visit or as a culinary experience when special "to go" snacks are required.
For Mun Kim, "Asia Street" is his new culinary-creative laboratory space on 25 square meters. Here he can demonstrate what makes East Asian street food so popular around the world. Mun Kim, award-winning chef of MUN, combines in "Asia Street" his skills and fine dining expertise with his personal passion for small, at first glance simple dishes that surprise with unusual flavors and textures.
Asia Street: What the Guests Want is on the Menu
A core focus of the menu will be sushi. To be specific oversized maki sushi that we call “Jumbo Maki” that blend the taste of traditional Japanese sushi with the form of a large, handheld burrito. According to Kim, the sushi scene in Munich currently consists mainly of sit-down sushi restaurants or pre-made options that lack quality. The Jumbo Maki at Asia Street will be fresh, made-to-order, hand-held, and delicious.
Creativity, Skill ... and Pocket-Friendly
Mun Kim promises the same quality sushi as his namesake restaurant. The same meticulous time and care will be placed on the rice preparation. And only the freshest fish will be utilized. From May 2021, the result will be fresh Jumbo Maki of excellent quality and without compromise.
