Asan Medical Center (AMC) was established by ASAN Chung Ju-yung, the founder of Hyundai Group and Asan Foundation, in 1989. With the founder's mission of "helping the underprivileged members of our society," Asan Foundation first opened hospitals in rural areas where resources of modern medicines were scarce and in 1989, established Asan Medical Center in Seoul with the aim of building a world-class medical institution in Korea. AMC has always endeavored to be the best in every medical field, and for many years AMC has adopted state-of-the-art technology, leading Korea's standard of medicine. AMC’s challenging spirit has achieved the most outstanding results in organ transplantation, heart disease, cancer treatment, and many other medical fields.
