Arcop was established in 1987; The guiding precepts laid for the firm's work were;to produce Environments and Architecture which are contextually relevant, of a high design merit, foster the use of local arts and crafts, and work within the broader definitions of Regional Modernism. Today the firm has a significant presence on Pakistan's Architectural scene, the sensitivity shown to issues of Culture, Function and Context have been rewarded by way of challenging commissions, International awards and competition winning entries. In 2012 and 2014 , the firm received the coveted Arcasia, Gold Medal for Architecture. Philosophically the firm views each project as a challenge and an opportunity to improve the built environment. The partners continue their search for excellence, through a dialogue with clients, academia and communities.
