The Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (AFFR) was founded in 2000 as a biennial event dedicated to cities and architecture. In 2017, it transitioned into an annual festival. Over the years, it has evolved into the world's largest festival of its kind, featuring around 100 documentaries and events that delve into various aspects of architecture, landscape, urbanism, and city life. The festival is not just about films; it also includes engaging debates, informative lectures, and exciting excursions.
Our five-day festival consistently draws an increasingly international audience of nearly 10,000 people. Attendees range from architects, planners, designers, filmmakers, and developers to ardent film enthusiasts and a general audience with a keen interest in these subjects.
The 16th edition of the Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam is scheduled to take place from October 9 to October 13, 2024. Hosted at LantarenVenster film theatre, our main venue, and Theater Zuidplein
