Axion assists in building future Canadian technology power houses by helping inventors protect and scale their IP and navigate through the investment and funding landscape.
Our mission is to accelerate Canada into an innovation economy by:
i) Making angel investment accessible to investors who otherwise are unable to participate
ii) Promoting the creation and commercialization of intellectual properties and hyper growth outcomes with an added focus on Northern Ontario
iii) Removing barriers for Canadian inventors to connect to investors and industry partners
Axion has two principal investment thesis:
i) Axion Canadian IP Initiative (AIPI)
AIPI is geared to assist in the commercialization and growth of ideas and research-based companies, generated within universities and other innovation centres across Canada.
ii) Axion Northern Ontario Initiative (ANI)
ANI is geared to attract, mentor, coach, fund and commercialize, early-stage start-ups and later-stage scale-ups that have a plan to partly or entirely be situated in, or desire to locate in some form to Northern Ontario.
Axion is a part of the Archangel Network of Funds, an overarching angel stage investment fund with the mission of unlocking capital through the support of a consortium of super angels and venture capitalists.
