Antaeus Group was founded in 1992 by one of China’s most wealthy and respected entrepreneurs, Zhang Baoquan. The Group has since grown into a diversified conglomerate with significant holdings in real estate, IT, art and cultural museums, and the movie industry. In addition, the company engages in charitable activities through its Beijing Apple Charity Foundation, founded by Antaeus Co-chairwoman Wang Qiuyang in 2003. This is the largest private foundation assisting the Tibetan region in China. It engages in philanthropy projects focused on enhancing education, medical treatment, and environmental protection.
The Antaeus Group’s hospitality and real estate division is charged with the management of USD 4.2 billion in assets across 9,000 hotel rooms, 140 restaurants, 2 theme parks, and more than 180,000 sqm of retail area. The real estate division also drives the development of all new projects including 6,000 hotel rooms, 2,000 residential units, 170 restaurants, 3 theme parks and 200,000 sqm of shopping mall retail area.
