With the dream of sharing his Lebanese roots with his adoptive country, Raymond Cheaib founded Andalos bakery in 1991. Together with his wife and children, and a dedicated work ethic, Andalos has become a leader in Middle East baking in Canada.
In 2012, following several years of constant growth, Andalos, replaced its initial setting of 4,000 square foot bakery with 5 employees and a production of 4,000 pitas per hour using one machine with its current headquarters consisting of three buildings of approximately 80,000 square feet and producing 24,000 pitas per hour using state of the art equipment.
Gondole bakery, a subsidiary of Andalos, was founded in 2003 to respond to a growing demand in the market for mini croissants. Today Gondole has diversified its product line to offer chocolatines (chocolate filled croissant) in different sizes, variously flavoured kaaks (Middle Eastern treat also known as bread sticks) and salted bread sticks.
Today a new generation is taking over and with its involvement a new era of diversified services and products are being added. To summarize, Andalos is not only specialized in Middle Eastern baked goods, it has also become a leader in Pita production, Middle Eastern and international pastries, catering, grilled meats, homemade meals, and Middle Eastern gourmet specialties.
