American String Teachers Association

Celebrating our 75th anniversary this year, the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) serves as the national community for string educators. Our mission is to provide professional development, career building and support, and a community of peers for all teachers of stringed instruments with a shared vision to enrich lives through universal access to fine string playing and teaching. ASTA has 6,700 members in all 50 states, with the majority teaching in public schools. Our members range from early childhood specialists to professional teaching artists; they teach in schools, preschools, universities, and private studios.
