Established in 1947, the American Overseas School of Rome (AOSR) has a long tradition of providing a rigorous and well-rounded American international education to Pre-K through Grade 12 students.
AOSR is home to an international student body of around 575 students with approximately one third from the United States, one third from Italy, and the remaining third from 50 different countries.
AOSR students benefit from:
- a diverse selection of challenging coursework, including the two rigorous IB (International Baccalaureate) and AP (Advanced Placement) programs;
- the personal attention we provide in a small classroom setting;
- the unparalleled commitment of our highly qualified faculty, all passionate about their teaching, and engaged in ensuring that all students achieve their full potential;
- our multicultural community, one of AOSR’s greatest assets in building an uncommon and uniquely enriching learning environment;
- our dedication to athletics, fine and performing arts and other extra curricular activities;
- our ability to take full advantage of the wealth of art, history, and culture available to us in Rome and Italy as a basis for experiential learning.
The success of our alumni and the deep, lifelong connection they feel to the school speaks to the experience that students have at AOSR.
The American Overseas School of Rome is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and, thanks to its premier academic program, is the first international school to be awarded MSA's prestigious International Credential.
AOSR is a member of RISA (Rome International Schools Association), CIS (Council of International Schools) and ECIS.
