Allegro Networks was a startup company in 2000 that was building a multi-router going after Cisco Systems. $86M later the company was an unfortunate victim of the "Massive Fraud" at worldcom. Even though we had created one of the most innovative products in the industry that included a complete rewrite of every networking routing protocol, we could not recover from the Worldcom fallout. Allegro Networks shut its doors April, 2003.
