Founded by Roberto Patiño in 2016, Alimenta La Solidaridad is a Venezuelan nonprofit organization and social movement that supports a network of more than 240 community kitchens throughout the country to provide daily meals to more than 16,000 children. Our approach to humanitarian work is defined by community empowerment, co-responsibility and project sustainability.
These community-kitchens have mitigated food insecurity through a weekly menu covering 40% of the daily kilocalories' requirement for infants from birth to 12 years old.
Our organization works because we have managed to facilitate development and leadership opportunities in Venezuela's most disadvantaged communities while advancing an easily scalable and replicable model.
During these four years, we have been operating in the country, we have been recognized with several awards and mentions in the national and international media.
According to the United Nations World Food Programe (2019), one in three Venezuelans is in a state of moderate or severe food insecurity. US$ 12 feed a child for one month. 100% of donations to Alimenta La Solidaridad are destined to feed kids in a vulnerable situation in Venezuela
