Aliancia Stará Tržnica

Since 2013, the Aliancia Stará Tržnica - civic association revitalizes the Old Market Hall in Bratislava, Slovakia. The formerly neglected cultural heritage building had under the association's lead quickly become one of the most important cultural and social gatherings spots in the city. It's story inspires similar project both home and abroad. The Old Market Hall functions as an urban centre offering authenthic food markets, cultural events and social gatherings, and accomodates various small businesses. The activities of the Alliance initiated - both directly and indirectly - changes also outside of the Market Hall. The most prominent being the Živé námestie (Vivid Square) project which got adopted by the municipality. Its outcome is the renovation of the public spaces in the vicinity of the Old Marekt Hall.
