Alamo Cove Rehab & Nursing Center

After caring for many relatives for several years, Fern felt the passion for helping people and saw the need for providing assistance in the senior community. She knew a nursing home in the Alamo area would be needed so, in November of 1955 they had built the first nursing home to fit a maximum of 18 occupants. Over the next several years the facility grew to the size that would fit 37 occupants. Between 1972 and 1976, Alamo introduced the Skilled Nursing Unit. Which grew the facility to fit up to 100 occupants and became Medicare certified. Due to the influx of patients, Fern and Ray made the decision to build their very first home behind the facility where they would reside to maintain the upkeep of the nursing home. Later in 2007 the family made the decision to grow the facility and added the Rehabilitation Unit. The Enos children would help run the family business with each family member working in different departments. Later, the couple would retire from their family-owned business, but Fern always remained nearby. There would be times when Fern would make frequent trips into the facility to make sure the level of care was as she expected, until her passing. Currently, the family tradition continues on, as many of the Enos family still continues to work at Alamo Nursing Home and Rehabilitation. Currently, overseeing the family's business is their granddaughter Patricia Perry as the Administrator, grandson James Preston as the Director of Nursing followed by their great-grandson Quinn Perry as Assistant Administrator.
