What is the ACDEC?
The Alachua County Democratic Executive Committee (ACDEC) is the official representative body of registered Democrats in Alachua County. We are composed of precinct committeemen and commiteewomen from each of the voting precincts in Alachua County, as well as Democratic elected officials and at-large appointees. The ACDEC is governed by the State of Florida and the Florida Democratic Party.
What do we do?
The main purpose of the party and the ACDEC is to elect Democrats to public office, educate and recruit voters, and engage in the political process. Other major ongoing duties include raising awareness on issues important to Democrats and promoting party activity and involvement in each precinct.
When do we meet?
Our meetings are open to the public and all committed Democrats are encouraged to attend. General body meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month starting at 6:00 p.m. and ending no later than 8:00 p.m. They are held at the School Board Center of Gainesville, 620 East University Ave, Gainesville FL 32601.
