History: A Canadian Company, founded in 1977, developed as a result of several large projects, many of which are ongoing sources of business. The company developed and owns STC`s to re-engine the DHC-2 & DHC-3 to higher power, current production radical engines. AIRTECH CANADA developed a flying prototype of the DC-3, re-engined with current production radial engines. This included modification of a compatible propeller to feathering capability. AIRTECH CANADA, in a joint venture with a Polish manufacturer, developed a prototype high performance trainer (known as the Turbo-Orlik). The project was carried out in AIRTECH`s facilities in Peterborough and involved engineering and re-engining of the aircraft with a turbo-prop power plant. AIRTECH CANADA is currently developing an engine conversion for the DHC-3 Otter using a liquid cooled Orenda OE-600 engine. Capability: The company`s current priorities centre around three areas of aircraft modification. 1) EMS conversions and completions, designed, developed, approved, manufactured & installed in-house for various fixed and rotary winged aircraft. 2) The ongoing sales & servicing of the market created in converting DHC-3 aircraft to new radials engines imported by AIRTECH CANADA. 3) Design, fabrication, installation and approval of special purpose configurations including survey modifications, camera windows, custom cabinetry etc. Special engineering and custom manufacturing of aircraft and aerospace parts, components and assemblies and for other high tech applications involving sheet metal, prototype sheet metal forming bonded panel fabrication, machining and welding.
