AirGap is focused on helping to increase both the viability and the adoption of Open Source Software (OSS) for controlled or classified domains, otherwise known as the "paranoid" community. Obviously these include Defense, Intelligence, Homeland Security, and Law Enforcement as well as security minded commercial sectors like banking, finance, and pharmaceutical industries – that face significant risks. While we focus on Open Source Software, we fully believe the same concerns exist and solutions apply to commercial software (COTS) as well. Software is a problem for the Enterprise that is only growing. The processes (contracting, workflow, security) for getting software into an enterprise (across the gap) and then supporting, updating and evolving that software hasn’t kept pace with how rapidly modern software evolves and changes.
