Ahooja Opthalmic Instruments DR. OP Ahuja did his post-graduation from Kanpur Medical College and joined Aligarh Muslim University where he worked for 33 yrs before retiring as Professor in retina service and Director of the Institute of Ophthalmology, JNMC, Aligarh. During his tenure he established the Retinal clinic at the institute, one of the few in Northern India involved in patient care as well training in retinal diseases and surgery. Two national workshops were conducted by him for training fellow ophthalmologists in surgery of retina and vitreous. He also served as a professor and vitreo-retinal consultant at Al Fatah university, Tripoli (Libya). He has been a visiting professor at the PGI Chandigarh. He has worked in Moorfields hospital, London as a senior registrar and as a research fellow at the London University Institute of Ophthalmology. An academician, he has over a hundred publications in National and International journals to his credit and has authored a book on fundus diseases. Dr. OP Ahuja served as the President of the UP State society and a member of managing committee of the All India Ophthalmological Society. He has presented several papers, chaired sessions and conducted ‘current Status’ programs at the annual conferences of the All India Ophthalmological Society. He was awarded Dr. MP Mehrey oration by the UP State Ophthalmological Society. Dr. OP Ahuja Dr. Leela Ahuja did her MBBS from Allahabad University and post graduation from Aligarh after which she joined the faculty.A Professor of Strabismology,she served as the Director of the Institute of Ophthalmology from 2001-2004.She also established the Squint Clinic in Al Fateh University ,Tripoli,Libya. Dr.Leela Ahuja has to her credit many articles and publications. She has authored 2 books “A Manual of Squint” and “Handbook of Squint and Orthoptics” which were released in the World Ophthalmic Conference Hongkong and the International Eye Conference Germany respectively.
