Africandy is a curated design emporium representing the best South African designers, in an online store that makes cutting-edge interior design accessible wherever you are. Showcasing the finest South African furniture and lifestyle products, Africandy allows its customers to compare and choose from a carefully selected but comprehensive range of quality pieces. Africandy has built relationships with established and emerging designers of outstanding products, and put together an eclectic portfolio that celebrates a true cross-section of South African talent. Africandy’s goal is not only to show the rest of the world the huge resource of creativity to be found here, but also to help South Africans discover and appreciate the innovation on their doorstep. A priority is to ensure that all products represented are proudly South African; Africandy only selects original, authentic products that are manufactured in South Africa using local labour in accordance with fair-trade principles. Chris van Niekerk and Pierre du Plessis, both architects, are the creative minds behind Africandy. They founded Africandy in 2012, together with two more partners with backgrounds in IT and finance, seeing a need for a dedicated portal that focuses on excellent South African design.
