Africa In Science (AiS) is an online datahub, Africa-centric database and think-tank that tracks the publication of peer-reviewed scientific articles by institutes in Africa, uncovers under-researched topics in the continent, and relates the scientific output of Africa-based institutes to education, human development and socio-economic status.
AiS website, at www.africainscience.org, serves as a knowledge hub that utilises an Africa-centric database to present a unique blend of scientometric analysis and metrics, with the aim to uncover under-researched topics in the continent and to inform scientists, governments, organisations, funding bodies, philanthropists as well as the public in Africa and around the globe about the output and merit of scientific research in Africa.
AiS think-tank uses a data-driven, evidence-based mechanism to understand better the impact of education, human development and socio-economic status on scientific research in Africa, with the aim to aid efficient allocation of funding, subsidies and investment in science in Africa.
