Afloat studio is an architectural and interior design practice based in Hong Kong. The firm aims at exploring the ambiguous spatial quality of the “in-between’ space through the blurred boundary and applying the tangling spatial experience to architecture. The co-founder of the firm KONG Pui Sze & LAM Ho Wang Owen completed their Master of Architecture in the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong respectively and become a Registered Architect. Owen was shortlisted in the HKIA Young Architect Award 2021.
The team has been actively involved in various design including architecture and won the Second Prize of the 18th Shelter International Architectural Competition for Students organised by SHELTER Co, Ltd.(Japan) and the First Prize in the Open Group of 2014 Design Ideas Competition for Kai Tak River Kai Tak Development organized by Hong Kong CEDD.
