AccessComm specialises in assisting those with difficulty hearing over the telephone. Our primary objective is to educate people about CapTel -- Captioned Telephone and install them in their homes. Ideal for people with some degree of hearing loss, this technology provides word-for-word captions of what the other party is saying, much like television captioning, allowing for greater understanding over the phone. Whether for a large group setting, or working with individuals one-on-one, our experts will help you get the most out of your CapTel Captioned Telephone experience What is CapTel? The CapTel phone is for people with some degree of hearing loss, the Captioned Telephone, or CapTel, works like any other telephone with one important addition: It displays every word the caller says throughout the conversation. CapTel phone users can listen to the caller, and can also read the written captions in the CapTel's bright display window. How does CapTel Work? CapTel phones work with a free captioning service provided by the Australian government to provide captions of everything your caller says. You dial the other person's number, exactly the same way as with any other telephone. While you dial, the CapTel phone automatically connects to the captioning service. When the other party answers, you hear everything they say, just like a traditional call. At the same time, the captioning service transcribes everything they say into captions, which appear on the bright CapTel display window. You hear what you can, and read what you need to.
