ACADEMIC ACCESS, founded by Joan R. Koven, provides support and personal guidance to students and their families in the exploration of informed college options. We work one-on-one with your child, customizing a strategic plan of action to meet his or her academic, social, and emotional needs. We help students keep organized; stay motivated and hit deadlines throughout the application process. Our academic team provides customized SAT/SAT II/ACT prep, essay support, round table interviewing, and all academic subject tutoring. We work with the students to support his or her journey through the admissions maze and to help minimize the stress of the entire process. We track trends of current issues in college admissions by attending national and regional conferences, and regularly touring colleges and universities at all levels.
ACADEMIC ACCESS begins its relationship with students during the sophomore or junior year of high school with an initial two-hour meeting with the student and parents. One hour is devoted to students to help them better identify what they want from college and which colleges best fit their needs, interests, and qualifications. The second hour we ask parents to join our conversation as we map out the upcoming process and clarify their goals. Our team works with students to promote their strategies as they are individually guided through each step of the college admissions process.
