ASVAPP is a non profit organization founded in 1997 with the explicit mission of advocating and applying a rigorous approach to evaluation, in particular to impact evaluation. Since the very beginning, ASVAPP aims at representing a point of reference for those interested in an cautious and intellectually honest use of evaluation, striving to combine methodological rigor with a concrete support to the decision making process.
ASVAPP pursues its mission through a variety of activities that include: (i) organizing training courses on counterfactual impact evaluation; (ii) providing technical support in writing and updating guidance documents; (iii) participating to very selected tenders for conducting publicly funded evaluations while maintaining high standard of quality; (iv) providing advice to legislative bodies who are willing to exercise an oversight function on the implementation and effectiveness of public policies; (v) contributing to the methodological development through scientific publications.
