The ANRAV project aims to be the first full CCUS value chain project in Eastern Europe, linking CO2 capture facilities at the Devnya Cement Plant, part of Heidelberg Materials, in Bulgaria with permanent CO2 storage in a depleted gas field in the Black Sea, through an onshore and offshore pipeline system. ANRAV represents a cornerstone for Heidelberg Materials and for CCUS in Eastern Europe with its huge potential for a cluster development in the region. The goal is to realize an economically feasible CCUS-cluster for Bulgaria and its neighbouring countries Romania and Greece, leveraging on the identified potential of CO2 sequestration in the Galata depleted offshore gas field.
