AD Studio is multifaceted production house, based in São Paulo, Brazil. The studio is a conglomerate of talents, including motion designers, animators, architects, illustrators, editors, composers and musicians. It started as a personal project of director Jarbas Agnelli, when he was still an art director at W/Brasil (where he worked for 13 years). He started producing videos and soundtracks alone at home, for spots he created at the agency. With a group of friends, he produced some groundbreaking music videos, winning several MTV Awards. The group expanded and got more experienced, producing and doing the soundtracks for dozens of commercials. More than 300 in 9 years of age. Jarbas was the brazilian director more awarded in Cannes, in 2000, 2001 and 2005. The only brazilian director (and the only one not american or british) to win the Grand Clio. In Brazil, he won the most prestigious national prize, "Professional of the Year", 5 times (3 as a director) and inumerous other awards. Jarbas always worked with music, doing the soundtracks for some of his spots, flirting with electronic music, with his extinct group AD, and also with pop music, now with the duo Vertikkal. His personal works of video and audio recently granted him an award at the Biennial Youtube Play Guggenheim Festival, with the piece Birds on the Wires.
