Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) is the non-profit community transportation provider for residents of and visitors to Addison County, Vermont. ACTR operates two complementary transportation systems: a Shuttle Bus System with local and commuter bus routes and a Dial-a-Ride program. ACTR provides nearly 200,000 rides each year and has been recognized nationally for its unique public-private partnerships and innovative approach to reducing fossil fuel dependence in rural communities.
In 2012 ACTR established a Transportation Management Association called Go Addison County. Go Addison County fosters partnerships with businesses, local governments, other non-profits to help businesses attract and retain employees by overcoming transportation barriers. Go Addison County offers a $mart Commute program to help employers create incentive programs to curb carbon - one ride at a time through ridesharing, transit pass programs, telecommuting and biking and walking.
