ACRRES is the Application Centre for Renwable Resources of Wageningen UR and is situated in Lelystad on a 1,200 ha large agricultural area with arable farming, dairy and wind energy production. ACRRES is an experimenting and testing site for the bio-economy and for solar, wind and bio energy. The facilities vary from pilot level installations to laboratory equipment. Amongst the installations are an aerbic digester of 2x500 m3, a CHP of 120 kW, a biogas separator, a ethanol producing installation, two open pond algae cultivation pilots equiped including harvest equipment and two preculturing photobioreactors. The installations are interconnected to valorize side streams. ACRRES works closely together with companies to develop and test innovations.
