During the Seventies, Abet Laminati was the main backer of the New York Museum of Modern Art’s exhibit on Italian design.
In the Eighties, Abet gave birth to Alchimia and Memphis, two of the most revolutionary cultural movements coordinated by Architect Ettore Sottsass. This became an important instrument for the promotion of “Made in Italy” all over the globe. And in 1987, Abet’s innovative translucent laminate “Diafos” won the “Compasso d’oro”, the most sought-after Italian award for design.
The nineties led to the collaboration, once again, with Ettore Sottsass and his selections for the new Solid Colors series. Abet also won the European Design Award, a prestigious prize that emphasized its successful integration of technology and design.
The new millennium committed Abet to the research of high quality, innovative techniques and more refined new products. In 2001, ABET LAMINATI, together with Ferrari, received its second “Compasso d’oro”, this time as a lifetime achievement award.
Abet continues to push the limits of engineering and design to deliver the highest quality and most unique decorative laminates available.
