Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM) is one of the key non-profit organizations addressing poverty, hunger, homelessness and access to health care for the under-served in North Carolina. Begun as a small collaboration of churches in 1969, ABCCM plays a significant role in meeting emergency assistance needs for families in crisis through seven different ministries. Through our four crisis ministry locations we support those most in need by addressing food insecurity, clothing, and financial counseling and support ; the jail ministry provides education and devotional services and is part of a vital re-entry program, Transformation Village is a 100+ bed transtional living faility for women and children, the Veterans Restoration Quarters provides over 280 beds for male Veterans both with emergent, transitional and permanent supportive housing; the Recovery Living Center is a 50+ Peer led recovery center that addresses mental health and substance use; Veterans Services of the Carolinas which offers six direct service programs supporting Veterans and their families with VA, DOL, and HHS funding; and the free medical clinic that provides medical care to the uninsured and underserved as well as medication assistance through our free pharmacy services.
ABCCM is generously supported by over 300 churches of all denominations and 6,000 trained volunteers and provides emergency assistance to anyone in need regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, or disability.
