AADK Spain is an international, independent and transdisciplinary artist-run platform based in Blanca, a small town in the Ricote Valley in southern Spain since 2012. It develops spaces for research and contemporary art creation. With a focus set on experimental and creative processes, its primary interest is to explore the notions of body, territory, and spatiality. The platform advocates the decentralization of culture and access to contemporary art in non-urban areas. It addresses local issues as a means to understand global problems.
AADK has developed a wide range of projects (artist residencies, educational events, workshops, festivals, exhibitions, intensive experimentation events) and has consolidated a rich corpus of critical and self-reflective material.
