A Social Ignition

A Social Ignition is working to reduce the stigma and shame of a criminal record. Our efforts in this area are two-fold. First, our founder, Sonja Skvarla, developed a curriculum for entrepreneurship taught inside and outside of prison. After the series, participants can enroll in The Long Haul program. It consists of individual and small group coaching toward their specific goals. Second, and almost more important, is the folding of people with criminal records and business professionals into one network. By bringing people into class (prison or otherwise), these groups meet each other on common ground and begin to see each other as people instead of merely representatives of their labels.
