In 2016 Raymond James Ltd. acquired 3Macs (MacDougall, MacDougall & MacTier Inc.), a respected investment firm founded before Canada’s Confederation in 1849. 3Macs complemented Raymond James Ltd.’s private client business by adding 72 advisors and more than CDN $6 billion of client assets on behalf of individuals and families. The combined firm created Canada’s largest independent investment dealer with more than CDN $34 billion in client assets under administration. Raymond James Ltd. now sits just over 950 employees and agents, including 457 financial advisors across Canada with 17 investment research analysts that cover more than 245 companies in the following broad sectors: industrials, consumer products, natural resources, real estate/REITs and technology.
