What is Roller Derby? Roller Derby is a contact sport performed on quad skates, in which two teams play on an oval track in an anti-clockwise direction. The match lasts one hour and consists of two half-hour parts, which includes two-minute rounds separated by half-minute breaks. In one round, there are 5 players from each team designated to play - one girl as scoring jammer, and the other four are blockers. Jammers have to pass all opponents in order to score points. Blokers, on the other hand, have to block jammers from the opposing team, preventing them from scoring points, while helping their own jammer to get out of the pack and gain points.
